Why ghost fitness started

The name “Ghost Fitness” connects back to me being born on Halloween, but it also became something much bigger than that. It became a dream built from one of the hardest periods of my life and turning it into something positive that could help others.

What started as a logo became a place that I truly care deeply about, and I am incredibly grateful for every person who has supported Ghost Fitness along the way.

My goal has always been simple: help people feel stronger, healthier, more confident, and happier through movement. And I am incredibly grateful to every person who has trusted me to be part of their journey.

Fitness has always been a huge part of my life. As a former collegiate athlete, I experienced firsthand how much movement, strength, and exercise can impact not only your physical health, but your confidence and mental health too.

Before opening Ghost Fitness, I worked in healthcare for years. While I loved helping people, the pressure and environment eventually pushed me into one of the darkest places in my life.

I worked so hard to please everyone. I needed that validation that I got when I was younger. When I played well, looked good, and trained hard. I was working 24 hour shifts, working 12hrs on 3rd shift every single night to make sure everything was perfect. I thought that my work ethic was speaking for itself and that I would get verbally rewarded, a “great job” out of someone. This never happened. I became sick, not sleeping, over working, obsessing to make something work and be perfect that would never be. Depression became a reality quickly. When a doctor you have known your entire life asks “Have you ever thought about hurting yourself?” and you break down crying knowing the answer and your secret is out. That is when I decided to wake the f*ck up and take control of my life.

This is when I had my biggest shock of what I had done to my body. I had gained weight, stress was unbearable, couldn’t sleep or wanted to sleep an entire day, wouldn’t eat, wanted to be secluded, and I wouldn’t even speak to anyone. My body was not happy with how I was treating it. This is when I changed it all and got back to something that I loved for myself.

The one thing that consistently made me feel better was working out and knowing I have helped others. I would literally bring weights to work with me because movement and training were the only things that helped clear my mind and make me feel like myself again. This is when I knew I was going to use my training license and help others reach their goals and become happier and healthier through fitness.

During that time, I started thinking a lot about my former trainer growing up and how much confidence she gave me through training. She helped me realize that fitness was not just about appearance, it was about strength, confidence, mental health, and feeling empowered.

I actually got my personal training certification before starting my healthcare career because deep down, I always knew I would use it someday. Since I was 18 years old, I dreamed of owning my own personal training studio. I always pictured having a small, welcoming gym where people could come to build confidence, strength, and happiness through movement.

I wanted people to understand that training should never feel like punishment. It should feel like a reward for your body. Something that you can do and relieve stress and have a positive outcome. Something that is special to you and where you belong.

I wanted to create something different from the typical gym environment. So many people feel intimidated, judged, or uncomfortable walking into gyms. Ghost Fitness was created to be a safe, private, supportive place where people could feel comfortable showing up exactly as they are.

Whether someone is:

  • a former athlete

  • a beginner

  • struggling mentally

  • recovering from injury

  • postpartum

  • an older adult

  • training for sports

  • or simply trying to feel better again

I am here to help you feel your best. Personal training should be a fun and exciting experience. Ghost Fitness is a place that I want clients excited about coming to and having a great workout experience. It is my happy place and I want it to be yours too.
